CNC Machine OperatorOperate various CNC machines in compliance with the corporate mission and values, and department financial objectives.Essential Functions:Mill, turn, drill, tap, deburr, mold and all bench operations and inspections as requiredDetect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor or trainerFollow prescribed safety regulations and equipment tag-out proceduresComply with Global Harmonized System (GHS), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and hazardous waste labeling requirementsExecute proper spill response proceduresPerform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as requiredKeep equipment and work area clean and in orderMaintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective manner with customers, co-workers, clients and supervisorsWork in a safe and conscientious mannerAssist other employees in the performance of their duties as necessaryPerform other job duties as assigned by supervisorQualifications:Three months of CNC machine operations or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to work independently without direct supervision and as a team memberRead and speak EnglishExperience in structural steel operations (preferred)HS Diploma (preferred)Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment: Routine exposure to steel fabrication environment and occasional outside weather conditions, excessive noise levels and regular exposition to vibration. Frequent work near moving mechanical parts and frequently exposed to fumes, vapors, or airborne particles. Occasional work in high, precarious places, and occasional exposition to risk of electrical shock.This is a safety-sensitive position.
