MachinistWe're looking for a skilled machinist who can do it all—layout, machining, sub-assembly, and dimensional checking. You'll be the one who takes a drawing or sketch and turns it into a precision part or sub-assembly. If you take pride in accuracy and like working with a variety of equipment, this role offers plenty of variety and challenge.You'll work with a broad range of machines and tools, including:Layout machinesVertical boring mills (manual and CNC controlled)Horizontal boring millsPlaner milling machinesRadial and angular drill pressesMeasuring devices, hand tools, fixtures, and deburring toolsPedestal tool grinders and tap disintegratorJib hoist, overhead crane, forklift trucksPersonal computerDay-to-day tasks include:Layout & SetupWork from and interpret prints, drawings, and work ordersMake sketches as needed; obtain drawings, tools, and fixtures from the tool cribPull necessary material from stockLay out castings, forgings, plate fabrications, and machined partsMark angles, radii, tapers, bolt circles, etc., and center punch as neededPaint guidelines, dimension figures, and instructions on material for downstream operationsStencil or stamp parts for identificationGo into other areas for layout work when requiredMachiningSet up machines by installing and adjusting tools, clamps, and fixturesPosition and align parts; set proper feeds and speedsInsert tape or operate manually; press buttons to initiate tape control cyclesPerform required machining operationsMonitor spindle speedVerify micrometer accuracyCheck parts with measuring devices to ensure operations are completeFinishing & AssemblyAssemble and disassemble as requiredDeburr all machined areas (including simultaneously with machine operations)Submit parts for inspection as requiredUse grinding attachments; grind tools from blanksAdjust, change, and dress toolsOperate a tap disintegrator as neededMaterial Handling & SafetyUse hoist, crane, and forklift truck to obtain and move materialsPerform crane hooking and unhookingWork from ladders and scaffolds when neededLubricate machines; wipe and oil machine waysPerform routine preventive maintenanceKeep tools, material, equipment, and work area organizedReport defective material or equipment to supervisionFollow all safety rulesReport production count, time, and identifying data as requiredQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentMust be able and willing to work 1st (7am–3pm), 2nd (3pm–11pm), and 3rd (11pm–7am) shifts.
