- Weekend Shift: Fri-Sun 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (% differential)
Overtime: As needed
Experience Level: Mid-Senior (Setup experience required)

Faircloth Machine Shop continues to grow due to new long-term customer contracts and ongoing investment in advanced CNC equipment. This CNC Lathe Machinist role is critical to supporting high-mix, tight-tolerance aerospace and medical work where setup ownership, first-article accuracy, and process stability matter.
This is not a button-pushing position - it's a skilled machining role for professionals who want variety, responsibility, and challenging work.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes for short-run, high-precision work
- Perform complete setups and teardowns, including tooling, offsets, and workholding
- Prove out first articles and support in-process inspection
- Run small, tight-tolerance aerospace components
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions
- Troubleshoot machining and process issues as they arise
- Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and quality to optimize results
- Work in a Pro Shop (PRP) environment focused on accountability and craftsmanship
Machines, Controls & Software
You'll work with equipment such as:
- CNC Lathes / Mill-Turn:
- Miyano BNX / BND / BNA (Twin Spindle, Live Tooling)
- Haas CNC Lathes
- Okuma CNC Lathes
- Controls: Fanuc, Haas, Okuma
- Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, indicators, and precision gauges
- Programming: CNC programming experience is strongly preferred
Materials You'll Work With
- Aluminum
- Stainless Steel
- Aerospace-grade alloys and specialty materials
What We're Looking For
Required:
- CNC lathe setup experience
- Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
- Experience performing first-article and in-process inspections
- Solid mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a high-mix, short-run environment
Preferred (Not Required):
- Aerospace machining experience
- CNC programming or CAD/CAM exposure
- Swiss machining experience
- Pro Shop (PRP) experience

Pay, Benefits & Schedule
Pay Range: $25-$30/hr (DOE)
Shift Differential: % for 2nd shift and Weekend shift
