Our partnership with NGK is highly collaborative and complimentary.Summary of Position:The CNC lathe machinist will perform accurate and timely set-ups utilizing Haas horizontal lathes. Proficient in accurate change-over of machine set-ups.

Ensure conformance to customer requirements using calibrated measuring equipment and visual inspection. Record and comprehend company work instructions and set-up books.Essential Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:Setup and operate CNC lathe for production operationObserve machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as neededResponsible for DNC communications, downloading tool programsInspect and measure parts according to set-up book inspection calloutsMonitor and replace tools in accordance with tool life management system, document all tool changesEnsure company procedures and "best machining practices" are being followedPerform additional related duties as assignedComply with applicable environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations, company policy, and accepted safe work practicesEducation and/or Experience:Minimum 2 years CNC lathe experience in a manufacturing environmentDemonstrated ability at operating CNC Machines and interpreting G & M codesChanging cutting tools and accurately adjusting offsetsAbility to set-up jobs independentlyAbility to read part drawings, apply GD&T concepts and rules to understand geometric requirementsAbility to correctly use and interpret measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, thread gages, chamfer gages, pin gage, test indicators, drop indicators, height gages, optical comparatorsImplement 6S conceptsBasic computer skills: Excel, Word, OutlookDetail oriented and strong organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPhysical Demands While Performing the Job:Standing for long periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, use hands to finger, handle, or feel parts; reaching with hands and arms and overhead; talking and/or hearing instructions and soundsOccasionally lift and/or move up to 40 poundsClose vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusAbility to differentiate shades and color to identify coating defectsNear acuity and accommodation are required for reading dial and digital gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of coating operationsWorking Environment of the Job:FM Industries facility is a temperature controlled working environmentRegularly exposed to moving mechanical partsOccasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shockHigh noise levels from operating machinesPhysical hazards from moving equipment and machine partsThe employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environmentCulture:At FM Industries our success is powered by people and technology.
