Laser OperatorThe laser operator will work effectively and efficiently to fabricate quality parts using both laser and finishing tools from engineering drawings.Additional job duties include:Operate laser machine in safe and efficient mannerDe-nest completed parts, inspect and match to printsMaterial handling: receive, check-in and stock/put away raw materialsInventory maintenance: issue material, cycle count and manage obsolete materialRead and analyze complex prints, layouts, or route sheets to determine optimal set-upIdentify and communicate with project team regarding priorities, issues and documentationMaintain workflow in areaAssist with post laser operationsPerform preventative maintenance of laserEducation:High school diploma or equivalent. Military, trade school or community college coursework in hydraulic-mechanical assembly, repair, and troubleshooting desired.Physical requirements:This position requires a high level of physical flexibility, strength, and stamina, including the ability to: see and assess drawings, photos, and written instructions; audibly hear verbal instructions and mechanical signals (forklifts, cranes, machine alarms, etc.); and speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, an individual must be willing and able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds; have full range of body movement: head, neck, shoulders; lift arms overhead; work overhead; reach, lift, push/pull, walk, climb, kneel, bend; good dexterity and range of movement in fingers, hands and wristsAt Barry-Wehmiller we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
