CNC EDM Programmer and OperatorSalary: $30 - $35 per hourLocation: Royalton, VermontThe OpportunityYou'll join the Tooling Division of a stable, global industry leader as their newest CNC EDM Programmer and Operator a brand-new position created to support precision tooling and component manufacturing. Working alongside engineering, tooling, and production teams, you'll program, set up, and operate wire and sinker EDM equipment to produce high-precision parts that meet exacting quality and delivery standards. This is a company that invests in its people and its processes, and your expertise will have a direct impact on production outcomes.Your Day-to-DayProgramming and SetupCreate, modify, and optimize CNC EDM programs (wire and/or sinker) from CAD models, prints, and process requirementsImport and interpret 3D models and 2D drawings to define machining strategy, tool paths, and fixturingSelect electrodes, tooling, and setups to meet dimensional and surface finish specificationsSet up machines, fixtures, workpieces, and electrodes; establish work and tool offsetsPerform program prove-outs on new or revised jobs, adjusting for efficiency and qualityOperation and ProductionOperate CNC EDM equipment to produce parts to print within specified tolerances and timelinesMonitor machine performance, tool wear, and process stability; make real-time adjustmentsPerform in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers, indicators, CMM, or optical equipmentDocument machining steps, setup sheets, and process parameters for repeatabilityCoordinate with toolmakers, machinists, and engineers to resolve issues and improve manufacturabilityQuality, Maintenance, and Continuous ImprovementEnsure parts meet print, functional, and cosmetic requirements; identify and correct nonconformancesMaintain 5S standards around EDM equipment and work areasSuggest and implement improvements to programs, setups, and tooling to reduce cycle timesSupport root-cause analysis and corrective actions related to tooling and EDM processesPerform routine EDM machine maintenance including filters, dielectric fluid checks, and basic troubleshootingFollow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use and safe handling of materials and equipmentQualificationsWhat We're Looking For3+ years of CNC EDM programming and operating experience (wire, sinker, or both), preferably in a tooling or precision manufacturing environmentExperience reading and interpreting complex blueprints, GD&T, and CAD modelsProficiency with CNC EDM machines, control systems, and related CAM softwareStrong understanding of EDM machining principles, electrode selection, and process variablesSolid knowledge of precision measurement and inspection techniquesAbility to work from engineering drawings, CAD/CAM data, and written/verbal instructionsStrong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and mechanical aptitudeEffective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across departmentsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods in a manufacturing environmentWhy is This a Great Opportunity:If you're a skilled CNC EDM professional looking for a new opportunity with a global leader that values precision craftsmanship, we'd like to hear from you.Salary Type: HourlySalary Min: $30Salary Max: $35Currency Type: USDNigel
