Inside MachinistJob Description Position Summary The inside machinist operates in three sections: Machining, Valves and Pumps.

Responsibilities and functional knowledge vary based on the designated section. All inside machinists are encouraged, but not required, to gain experience in any section other than their designated section.

A first class mechanic must demonstrate an advanced knowledge of the skills, functional knowledge and abilities required to perform tasks in these and related areas of responsibility. Other incentives may be available based on position level and/or job specifics.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Education Minimum: High School Diploma/GED Minimum Relevant Experience: 2 to 4 yrs Practical Theory RequirementsAn Inside Machinist mechanic must demonstrate an advanced understanding of lathe operation, drill press operations, milling machine operations, blueprint reading and layout of projects to be machined.Must be able to read, write and comprehend simple instructionsMust be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram formMust be able to calculate and understand units of measure, including fractions and decimalsMust know how to measure using a scale and tape measureMust be able to wear applicable PPE (Hard hat, safety goggles, gloves, steel toes shoes, ear protection, respirator when necessary)Must be able to obtain a government access badgePreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred Relevant Experience: 3 to 5 yrs.
