nWhat You Do
nProvide gentle, attentive personal care including bathing, dressing, oral care, and toileting
nAssist with mobility and transfers in ways that preserve dignity and comfort
nNotice and report subtle changes in mood, pain, or breath to the RN team
nCreate an environment of peace—adjust lighting, reduce noise, offer warmth
nSit with patients who may have no family at bedside
nEngage with families and visitors in a calm, respectful, culturally sensitive manner
nSupport memory and legacy rituals when requested
nBe a steady presence during moments of confusion, grief, or transition
nRequirements
nCurrent CNA certification in Oregon
nExperience in hospice, elder care, or memory care preferred
nEmotional maturity and a grounded, non-anxious presence
nAbility to remain calm and compassionate in the presence of suffering
nWillingness to receive training in our relational care model, including:
nTrauma-informed caregiving
nNonverbal presence
nRitual-based comfort practices
nWhat we call “the long stay” being there, fully, even when there’s nothing to do
