Our mission is to engage customers and empower makers to deliver precision.Job DescriptionReports to: Quality and Safety ManagerJob Purpose: Responsible for programming and operating multiple CMMs. Complete inspections for FAIR, Sample, and Final Inspections for high precision machined parts.
Provide support to the machinists throughout the inspection process.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Develop CMM programming scripts and program a variety of coordinate measuring machines' code linesDevelop fixtures for CMM part setup and quick change overCollaborate across departments to ensure that information and data transfer effectively to meet customer needs and organizational objectivesContinuously improve procedures, processes, and methods to ensure zero escapes on all inspectionsMaintains CMM machines to include probe qualifications, calibration, and regular cleaningWorks with engineering and manufacturing engineering to optimize measurements of critical features and tightly tolerance machined partsReview and complete all documentation required for shipping of product to the customer, thus certifying that all requirements are metAssist in training fellow employees to further the development of the workforceReview customer specifications to establish correct inspection criteriaTake direction from and report to the quality leadDevelop, maintain, and generate CMM programs per customer specifications.Perform preventative maintenance on inspection equipment.Completes all job-related paperwork and production reporting to accurately record time, attendance, and inventory.Maintains an organized, clean, and safe work area using 6S guidelines and safety standardsComplies with all safe practices, policies, and regulationsPerform other duties as assigned or requestedQualificationsBachelor's degree preferred or 8 years of work experience in lieu of degreeMinimum of 4 years' experience in Quality Control or MachiningKnowledge of manufacturing methods and logistics administrationCMM operation/programming skills are requiredFirsthand knowledge of blueprint reading including an advanced understanding of GD&T and military specificationsLean manufacturing and quality system experience preferred (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485, and AS9100D preferred)Zeiss Calypso preferredAdditional InformationGTC Machining, LLC offers a drug-free workplace along with a competitive salary and benefits package.
