CMM OperatorShift: Mon - Fri 7am-3:30pm Must have experience in PC-DMIIS Must have 2-3 years experience in CMM OperationOBJECTIVE: To insure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the data generated by CMM programs developed and maintained for the purpose of configuration verification of product manufactured to meet customer requirements.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform a variety of duties to operate Coordinate Measuring equipment to measure dimensions of components to specified requirementInstall and run CMM programs to support production operationsDraw sketches using Computer Aided Design (CAD) program and/or CATIAAs conditions require, perform all requirements of a Level II QA InspectorReview manufacturing planning, engineering drawings, and digital models (when available) to determine proper dimensions and tolerance specifications for specific part/tool to be measuredStart equipment and select program from available listings, matching part/tool identification with computer programSelect proper size and length for ruby-tipped probePerform set up operationsCalibrate probe to sphere regularly during the course of the dayPosition and level part on surface plate of measuring equipment taking care not to damage part or machineMake origin measurements as requiredActivate digital readout equipment and record specified measurementsRepeat process, moving probe to cover all areas for required measurements following sequence of computer programPrint measurements and compare to specified dimensions and tolerances, noting discrepanciesPerform manual dimensional checks as needed to verify questionable resultsDocument all non-conforming conditions in accordance with established proceduresPerform general maintenance duties as required, such as stoning the surface plate and cleaning the machinesReport any problems with equipment, software or materials to lead or immediate supervisor as soon as issue is identifiedAssist in the resolution of CMM problems within limited time constraints when requestedPerform other duties and special projects as assignedMaintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work areaComply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear personal protective equipment as requiredFollow corporate policies and procedures as well as department goals and objectivesMaintain frequent interaction with vendors on new machinery and assist with set up as neededActively participate in cross-training, cost savings and team activities to improve processesMaintain appropriate tact and diplomacy when interacting with co-workers, team members and supervisorsJob Requirements:To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Working knowledge of stationary and/or portable CMM equipment and the supporting software package(s) Use of advanced mathematics together with the use of: applicable manuals and specifications o computer and specific software application programs of a technical nature o precision measuring instruments While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, stoop, crouch, and stretch for prolonged periods Lifting up to 50 lb.
