Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical services. The role may involve assignment to a specific medical specialty department, such as orthopedics.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education

• High school diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or community college course in medical assisting. If not yet a CMA, the employee will receive all hours required for the CMA exam, and the clinic will cover the fee for the first exam.

Minimum Work Experience

• At least one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant, or documented evidence of an externship completed in a medical office. Experience with electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection is required.

Required Licenses / Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant within 26 months of hire.
• Current CPR certification.
