Cloud Solutions Architect

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to lead cloud infrastructure modernization and transformation initiatives for HHSC. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise across AWS/Azure/GCP, cloud architecture, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, DevOps, networking, security, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) .

• Lead cloud architecture and infrastructure modernization initiatives across data center and hybrid cloud environments.
• Develop cloud architectural blueprints, network topologies, and technical specifications .
• Design and implement solutions using AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or GCP .
• Lead cloud migration and transformation initiatives from on-premises to public, private, or hybrid cloud platforms.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud integration pipelines.
• Establish security, identity, access control, governance, and compliance measures for cloud solutions.
• Design and administer highly scalable cloud-based systems and integrations.
• Support Kubernetes clusters, microservices, APIs, and serverless infrastructure .
• Implement automation using Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure ARM templates .
• Support CI/CD, containerization, deployment, scaling, and maintenance of cloud-native applications.
• Implement monitoring, logging, auditing, and operational solutions using cloud-native and enterprise tools.
• Analyze current-state and future-state architectures, identify gaps, and develop modernization strategies.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and provide technical direction to project teams.
• Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Support training and knowledge transfer for technical and business teams.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in cloud technology and IT architecture.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP .
• Experience with PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS cloud delivery models.
• Cloud-based network design and architecture.
• Cloud security, data governance, compliance, and identity/access management .
• Kubernetes architecture, deployment, scaling, and maintenance.
• Containerization and microservices.
• CI/CD and DevOps principles .
• Infrastructure as Code using:
• Terraform
• Ansible
• AWS CloudFormation
• Cloud automation using Bash, Korn, PowerShell, Cloud CLI, and Kubernetes Helm .
• YAML, JSON, Ruby, HCL, and other declarative/imperative technologies.
• Cloud monitoring, logging, auditing, and operations tools such as:
• AWS CloudWatch
• GCP Cloud Operations
• Dynatrace
• Strong technical writing and architecture diagramming skills.
• Experience with Visio, Microsoft Office, and MS Project .
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments .
• 8+ years of enterprise cloud/hybrid architecture experience.
• Cloud database services including SQL, Oracle, and NoSQL .
• Data lakes and cloud ETL/ELT technologies.
• Structured and unstructured data platforms.
• Enterprise IT solution architecture in cloud and hybrid environments.
• AI services from major cloud providers.
• Data pipelines and big data frameworks.
• Advanced Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Advanced cloud automation and IaC.
• Experience with healthcare or regulated environments.
