Senior Cloud Software EngineerJoin a highly skilled Agile development team building and enhancing mission-critical cloud applications that support large-scale distributed compute environments. In this role, you'll design, develop, integrate, test, and optimize software that powers complex mission systems used across enterprise cloud infrastructure.As a Senior Cloud Software Engineer, you'll work independently on complex technical challenges while collaborating with software engineers, systems engineers, and mission stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.This position is performed primarily at the customer site. Routine telework is not currently supported; however, limited ad hoc telework opportunities may be available based on project requirements and mission needs.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, integrate, test, and maintain cloud-based software applicationsDevelop new capabilities while improving performance, scalability, and reliability of existing systemsBuild software for distributed, multi-threaded applications running in Linux environmentsIntegrate and extend commercial and government software solutionsParticipate in Agile software development activities including code reviews, testing, and sprint planningDevelop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processesDeploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and sustain production applicationsCreate technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and design documentationMentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across the development teamParticipate in a rotating Tier III on-call support schedule and occasional surge support as mission needs requireRequired QualificationsActive TS/SCI security clearance with a current Polygraph is required.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline and 20 years of software engineering experience OR four (4) additional years of relevant software engineering experience in lieu of a degreeStrong Java development experienceExperience developing distributed, multi-threaded applicationsExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible or PuppetExperience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, automated testing, and monitoringExperience working in Agile development environments using source code management toolsStrong Linux experienceProficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, Ruby, or PerlExperience developing microservices-based applicationsExperience with Kubernetes and container orchestrationExperience with container technologies such as DockerPreferred QualificationsAWS cloud or hybrid cloud experienceApache HadoopApache AccumuloApache NiFiMongoDBMessage broker technologies such as ActiveMQSpring FrameworkPython and Bash scriptingSecurity and compliance best practicesAI/ML or data analytics experienceWhy Join Peraton?At Peraton, you'll work alongside some of the industry's top engineers supporting a mission that directly impacts our nation's security. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
