Job Overview

Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud”, but not everyone knows how to secure it. As a security engineer at Booz Allen, you will develop cloud-based security architectures for the Intelligence Community’s most critical systems, located in Reston, Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and support documentation, validation, assessment, and accreditation processes to ensure IT systems meet Information Assurance and security requirements.
  • Assist in defining desired state and risk thresholds and analyze actual state information to assess compliance.
  • Advise leaders on codifying strategic objectives into doctrine and procedures to meet objectives.
  • Evaluate computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs to determine if software assurance best practices are followed.
  • Recommend tools and capabilities based on research of the current environment and knowledge of on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid resources.
  • Implement cloud security architectures, tools, and processes that were defined.
  • Work with IC clients to ensure standards are met with security requirements.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience building and administering cloud environments, utilizing cloud-native functionality, COTS, GOTS, and open-source tools.
  • Experience developing and evaluating security documentation including system security plans, contingency plans, security procedures, and continuity of operations plans.
  • Experience with security architecture evaluations, guidance development, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code concepts such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
  • Degree and experience combination as stated (Associate 10+ yrs, Bachelor 8+ yrs, Master 6+ yrs).
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification within 30 days of start date.
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570 Cybersecurity Service Provider – Infrastructure Support Certification within 30 days of start date.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with cloud technologies.
  • Excellent team leadership, development, and client relationship skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Compensation

Projected annual compensation range: $99,000.00 to $225,000.00.
