Position Summary
Cloud Center of Excellence of Thales is currently seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join the team in Austin, TX. This role may require onsite presence once restrictions have been lifted.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Evaluating, designing, developing, creating proof of concept and implementing security-focused tools and services.
- Supporting the company-defined cloud strategy.
- Ensuring and advocating cloud security practices.
- Driving engineering teams across all security practices.
- Continuously improving Thales CDI Cloud.
- Identifying, raising and mitigating security weaknesses on Thales CDI Cloud infrastructure.
- Operating security framework on Cloud environments.
Special Position Requirements
Duty of 1 week is required and will happen one or two times per month.
Regulatory Compliance Requirements
- CFIUS clearance
- CJIS clearance
- Must have U.S. Citizenship to obtain the post‑hire Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Clearance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and must be able to obtain post‑hire clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investments in the U.S. (CFIUS) and Department of Treasury.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 5‑8+ years of relevant work experience or Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- 4+ years of experience building and architecting on Cloud‑based Platforms.
- 4+ years experience working on Cloud Provider AWS.
- Experience working with Gitlab, Terraform and Kubernetes.
- Experience in programming in Python.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related technical field of study.
- High interest in new technology.
- Global knowledge on security.

Compensation
Reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and variable compensation target, is between 105,905.00 - 183,637.50 USD annually.
