Seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Virtualization Engineer, this full-time remote position is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing virtualization services using VMware and OpenShift, ensuring stability, performance, and security of virtualized workloads. Key Responsibilities Conduct capacity planning and forecasting for the OpenShift Virtualization platform to ensure scalability and resource optimization Develop automation solutions for repetitive OSV tasks and implement Site Reliability Engineering principles to enhance platform efficiency Implement comprehensive observability solutions and perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot issues across the global compute environment Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on VMware and at least 2+ years in Kubernetes and/or OpenShift Virtualization Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible, Terraform, or GitOps Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace) Strong understanding of virtualization concepts and technologies, along with Linux administration and networking fundamentals
