About the Role
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating secure, high-performance network environments across on-premises infrastructure, public cloud, and restricted/enclave-based domains. This role requires strong hands-on experience with cloud networking, software-defined networking (SDN), and Kubernetes/container networking.
Most of your work will be performed on-site at customer locations in Huntsville, supporting secure and mission-critical network environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and configure restricted networks and secure inter-domain routing
- Implement network segmentation, access controls, and security policies across cloud and on-premises environments
- Build, configure, and manage cloud networking infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize multicast UDP and broadcast UDP traffic for high-throughput applications
- Deploy and maintain software-defined networking platforms and hardware-based network appliances
- Integrate network services with Kubernetes using CNI plugins and container-native networking
- Establish connectivity between remote cloud instances and on-premises data centers, ensuring reliable routing and optimized latency
- Support hybrid-cloud architectures and secure connectivity between remote enclaves
- Automate network provisioning and configuration changes using Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Implement network monitoring, logging, and alerting to maintain network health and identify security events
- Collaborate with security, DevOps, and application teams to establish network access protocols, firewall rules, and connectivity requirements
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-base articles
Must-Have Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance
- 5+ years of professional networking experience, with a strong focus on cloud and software-defined environments
- Proven experience designing and supporting restricted/compliant networks and secure inter-domain or enclave communications
- Hands-on experience with cloud networking concepts and technologies, including VPCs, VNets, peering, and transit gateways
- Strong experience working with Linux operating systems
- Practical experience troubleshooting and managing multicast UDP and broadcast UDP traffic
- Experience with both software-defined and hardware-based networking technologies
- Direct hands-on experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting networking within Kubernetes clusters
- Ability to design and maintain secure routing paths between isolated networks, domains, or enclaves
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with Kubernetes CNI technologies such as Cilium, Calico, or Multus
- Familiarity with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd
- Experience implementing cloud-to-cloud routing across multiple cloud providers
- Background supporting hybrid cloud infrastructure
- Experience developing network access policies, firewall rules, and zero-trust security policies
- Experience supporting enterprise software hosting in production environments
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of professional networking experience
