To support the VA team, the remote Cloud Data Architect will design and own the technical architecture of an enterprise-scale, multi-cloud data and analytics platform, focusing on Azure and Azure Databricks while ensuring data governance and compliance for sensitive Veteran information. Key responsibilities: Own and document cloud data architecture across a multi-cloud environment with a primary focus on Azure and Azure Databricks Lead modernization efforts including migration strategy, data modeling, and platform engineering Design and implement governance, security, and compliance strategies for handling sensitive Veteran PII and PHI Required qualifications: Proven experience designing and managing enterprise cloud data architectures in Azure Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks for data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML workloads Strong background in data governance, security compliance, and federal data standards including FISMA and NIST 800-53 Experience with large-scale data migration and architecture modernization efforts Bachelor's Degree
