Owning the enterprise platform architecture, the full-time Cloud Data Architect will establish security baselines and govern provisioning within the VA's Microsoft Azure cloud environment, ensuring compliance and interoperability while working remotely. Key responsibilities Establish and operate documented security, compliance, and application design rules for platform teams Publish and maintain the Enterprise Reference Architecture and Roadmap with clear integration and consumption guidelines Manage architecture governance through Architecture Review Boards and maintain traceable decision records Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field 8-10 years of experience in cloud/data architecture roles, with at least 5 years on Microsoft Azure Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Lakehouse architecture Working knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture principles and federal RMF/ATO processes Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Tier 2 (Moderate Risk) background investigation
