Working remotely on a contract basis, the Cloud/AI Developer will design, develop, and maintain innovative Java-based, cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), focusing on secure and scalable services for image processing and AI integration. Key responsibilities Develop RESTful APIs and build image processing pipelines Integrate AI functionalities such as classification, OCR, and image redaction Implement security best practices and support DevOps initiatives through CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code Required qualifications Proven experience developing backend services and APIs in Java (Spring/Spring Boot preferred) Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications on GCP, utilizing serverless and container-based approaches Experience with image workflows and AI integration, including computer vision and metadata management Strong knowledge of secure engineering practices, including IAM, encryption, and audit logging Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
