CLO Structuring Desk Associate
The CLO Structuring Desk Associate supports the structuring and execution of Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) transactions. The role partners closely with senior structurers and syndicate teams to analyze collateral pools, model transaction economics, and support new issuance and refinancing activities. The position requires strong quantitative skills and attention to detail, with the ability to independently deliver high-quality analysis in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the structuring and execution of new issue, reset, and refinancing CLO transactions.
- Set up and run CLO models for both investor and rating agency purposes.
- Analyze collateral portfolios, including key metric calculations and ensuring data integrity.
- Assist with preparation of structuring materials, deal memos, rating agency submissions, investor presentations, and marketing materials.
- Monitor warehouse activity.
- Track market developments in CLO assets and liabilities, for both broadly syndicated and private credit markets.
- Handle administrative elements of transactions (e.g. – NDAs, rating agency engagement)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of
- CLO structures, and portfolio and waterfall indenture mechanics.
- Capital markets concepts and securitization processes.
Skill in
- Quantitative modeling and scenario analysis.
- Advanced Excel modeling; familiarity with CLO modeling systems (e.g., Intex and rating agency models).
Ability to
- Independently manage analytical workstreams across multiple active transactions.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with senior structurers and cross-functional partners.
- Work effectively in a high-pressure, transaction-oriented environment.
- Identify risks, ask the right questions, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Continuously expand technical expertise in CLO markets and structuring mechanics.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
Education/Previous Experience
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the financial services industry.
- OR ~
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training approved by Human Resources.
Licenses/Certifications
- Required FINRA licenses – Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, Series 63 & Series 79
- Unlicensed candidates will be required to obtain registrations within 180 days
