Position Summary
To coordinate and implement clinical research protocols under the direction of the Director of Oncology Clinical Trials and Research Compliance, provide care to all or some of the patient’s enrolled in each protocol, act as the patient advocate by assuring the safety, consistency, and accuracy of the treatment regimen as dictated by the protocol, and coordinate all nursing activities specifically related to the implementation of the treatment regimen.
Responsibilities
- Screen and enroll patients
- Obtain informed consent
- Provide ongoing education and support to participants
- Coordinate study visits and perform protocol‑specific procedures
- Ensure accurate documentation of all research activities
- Coordinate all nursing activities related to treatment regimen implementation
- Act as patient advocate to assure safety, consistency, and accuracy of treatment regimen as dictated by protocol
- Collaborate with investigators, coordinators and multidisciplinary teams to maintain protocol adherence, patient safety and data integrity
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
- Current and valid State of New Jersey nursing license or legal permission to work in New Jersey
- Computer and keyboard skills
- Medical terminology knowledge
- IV certification
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including speech clarity and understanding of information relayed
- Strong deductive and inductive reasoning skills
- Ability to perform work accurately, pay attention to detail and manage time efficiently
- Ability to work cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environment
Physical Requirements
Full range of body motion including, but not limited to, physically assisting patients, stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling. Classified as very heavy work by USDOL: exerting in excess of 100pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20pounds of force constantly. Must exercise no more than 51pounds without assistance, and demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, constant talking and listening in English.
Schedule
Full‑time day shift (Monday–Friday) from 8:00AM to 4:30PM or 8:30AM to 5:00PM, total 40hours per week or 80hours bi‑weekly.
