Clinical Therapist Lead

Position Overview
The Clinical Therapist Lead is responsible for providing high-quality comprehensive, evidence-based mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering psychotherapy interventions to support the well-being of patients. The Clinical Therapist Lead collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, primary care providers, case managers, and social workers, to ensure integrated and patient-centered care.
In addition to providing direct patient care, the Clinical Therapist Lead offers clinical oversight and supervision to associate-level therapists, ensuring adherence to best practices and documentation standards. This role serves as a clinical resource and mentor to staff, supporting the ongoing development and quality of care within the behavioral health department. The Clinical Therapist Lead collaborates closely with medical providers, case managers, and community partners to promote coordinated, patient-centered care and may assist in program development or public mental health initiatives.
Essential Functions

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and formulate initial diagnoses and diagnostic evaluations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and patient needs.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy using appropriate therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, etc.).
• Monitor patient progress, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure effective treatment outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, social workers, and case managers to coordinate holistic care.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available resources.
• Participate in crisis intervention and risk assessment for patients experiencing acute distress.
• Engage in professional development and training to meet licensure and organizational requirements.
• Collaborate with community members to ensure quality patient care.
• Adhere to all confidentiality, HIPAA, and ethical guidelines for clinical practice.
• Maintain all credentialing and privileging requirements.
• Meet productivity standards as set forth by the organization.
• Provide supervision of clinical components and mentorship to associate therapists.
• Review, document, and sign evaluations and treatment plans performed by assigned associate therapist.
• Provide oversight and precept assigned BSW/MSW students who have been approved and assigned by Operations Managers and Student Coordinator.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work-Related Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience.
• Familiar with Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
• Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with complex behavioral health needs.
• Familiarity with crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, or chronic disease management preferred.
• Understand HIPAA laws and protocols

Mental:

• Ability to manage emotionally charged situations and provide support to patients in distress.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations, such as medical emergencies or crisis interventions.
• Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries.

Physical:

• Primarily a sedentary role with prolonged sitting for therapy sessions and documentation.

• Ability to drive to different FHC offices or community-based locations.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions, including typing

Working Conditions:

• Office setting with private consultation space.
• Clinical environment with exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and emotionally challenging patient cases.

Education, Certification, and Licensure
Education: Master of Social Work from an accredited institution.
Certification: None
Licensure: Active independent licensure in the state of Indiana as a LCSW and a valid driver's license

• Strong leadership and team coordination skills with the ability to mentor clinical staff.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse populations and foster a therapeutic alliance.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).

Pay Range: $67,000 per year
