Make an impact through clinical research
The Institute for Neurodegenerative Disorders (IND) is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse to join our growing clinical research team in New Haven.
This is an opportunity for an RN who enjoys hands-on patient care and is interested in applying those skills in a research environment. You’ll work alongside investigators, research coordinators, pharmacy, imaging, and other clinical team members to support innovative studies while helping ensure participant safety and an exceptional research experience.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Provide direct nursing care to clinical research participants
- Perform study-related clinical procedures, including IV insertion and management, blood collection and specimen handling, ECGs, investigational product administration, participant monitoring, and safety assessments
- Support research visits from screening and scheduling through follow-up and documentation
- Identify and escalate adverse events, participant concerns, and protocol deviations
- Learn and apply study protocols, SOPs, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ICH, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate closely with investigators, CRCs, pharmacy, imaging, and the broader clinic team
- Participate in study start-up, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- Active Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- 2-4 years of clinical research nursing, clinical nursing, or other relevant medical experience
- Current BLS certification
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative, detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to participant safety
Even better if you bring: clinical research or regulated healthcare experience; experience with phlebotomy, IVs, ECGs, investigational products, specimen handling, or participant monitoring; familiarity with GCP/ICH/FDA-regulated environments; or experience with neurology, imaging, or complex clinical populations. ACLS certification is also a plus.
Schedule & Location
This is a full-time, onsite position in New Haven, Connecticut, working Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Due to the nature of clinical research, some later evenings will be required throughout the month based on study and participant needs.
