Job Summary
The Clinical Psychologist adult and child will provide comprehensive psychological assessment diagnosis and evidence based treatment for Service Members in accordance with state licensure requirements APA ethical standards and military treatment facility privileges Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to deliver crisis intervention risk assessments psychological testing rehabilitation support and fitness for duty evaluations while ensuring high quality behavioral health care for military personnel
Required Qualifications
EducationDoctor of Philosophy PhD orDoctor of Psychology PsyDEducation Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology Additional training is required for psychology specialtiesInternshipResidency Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological AssociationCertificationsBasic Life Support BLSLicense Current unrestricted license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist from any US state the District of Columbia Puerto Rico or other US territory Must be eligible for credentialing and clinical privileges at a Military Treatment Facility MTFExperienceRequired to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the credentialing instruction Child Psychologist Have at least two years experience providing family centered services to a population of young children with disabilities and their families including diagnosis and treatment of sleeping feeding attachment and other behavior disorders using behavior management and other techniquesPreferred Prior experience working withor treating active duty servicemembers andor their family members andor having a sound working knowledge of military cultureCNACI Child Care National Agency Check with Inquiries is required for this position US Citizenship is required
Key Responsibilities
Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct and MTF privilegesConduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews psychological testing and collateral sources as appropriateEstablish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of DisordersProvide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuriesAssist in rehabilitation of patientsAdminister and interpret psychological test measuresProvide crisis intervention services and triage coverage to clinically assess Service Members in acute emotional distressParticipate in interdisciplinary behavioral health treatment team to provide effective and efficient patient care for Service MembersConduct thorough risk assessment for suicidality and homicidalityAssists with fitness for duty and other report creation med boards profiles etc
Work Environment & Schedule
On site required services may be scheduled between the hours of 630am to 600pm Monday through Friday Physical requirements Ability to sit stand walk and move throughout a medical treatment facility for extended periods while providing patient care participating in interdisciplinary meetings and responding to behavioral health emergencies Must be able to communicate effectively use computers and standard office equipment observe and assess patient behavior and occasionally lift or carry up to 20 pounds of files testing materials or office supplies
