The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a half-timeFaculty (unclassified) Clinical Psychologist position.
Job Summary:
This position includes direct clinical care, teaching, supervision,program development duties, and research, with a focus on providingintegrated in person and tele-behavioral health services tochildren, adolescents, and young adults with Down syndrome andtheir families who are seen in academic medical center settings.This is a faculty position with rank commensurate with theapplicant\'s experience.
The Down Syndrome Behavioral Health Collaborative was created in2021 by internationally renowned psychologist and expert inbehavioral health in Down syndrome, Lina Patel, PsyD. TheCollaborative is looking for a clinical psychologist with a passionto help serve the Down syndrome community through innovative ways,such as telehealth behavioral health services and community-basedtrainings. In addition to individual and family-based behavioralhealth support, opportunities exist for joining Children\'s HospitalColorado\'s feeding team and working alongside a speech oroccupational therapist in feeding therapy co-treats. Depending onthe applicant\'s expertise and interest, opportunities for programdevelopment and scholarly work are available.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide in person or virtual behavioral health services
- Provide trainings on the neurodevelopmental profile ofindividuals with Down syndrome and behaviorally based methods tosupport individuals with Down syndrome and their families
- Use evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches forchildren, adolescents and young adults with Down syndrome and awide range of behavioral, developmental, and mental healthconcerns.
- Engage in teaching and scholarship, including collaboration ongrants and contracts with hospital and community partners.
Work Location: Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located inAurora, CO.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized asInstructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, AssociateProfessor or Professor based on experience and qualifications asindicated below:
Instructor/Sr. Instructor/Assistant Professor:
- 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalentexperience.
- Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensurewithin the state of Colorado.
- Minimum degree qualifications: Completed PhD and/or PsyD; froman APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D training program, including anAPA-approved internship.
Associate Professor:
- 4-7 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalentexperience.
- Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensurewithin the state of Colorado.
- Minimum degree qualifications: Completed PhD and/or PsyD; froman APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D training program, including anAPA-approved internship.
Professor: 7+ years of related clinical experience at a rankor equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of related clinical) experience at rank or equivalentexperience.
- Colorado Psychologist License or be eligible for licensurewithin the state of Colorado.
- Minimum degree qualifications: Completed PhD and/or PsyD; froman APA-approved Ph.D. or Psy.D training program, including anAPA-approved internship.
Track:

Ranks of Instructor and Senior Instructor will be on the TTE trackand given an opportunity to switch tracks, if needed, at a latertime.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience after completion ofpostdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology and/or child andadolescent psychology
- Experience working with pediatric populations with medicalcomplexity and their families
- Experience working with pediatric populations withneurodevelopmental and intellectual disabilities and theirfamilies
- Demonstrated skills using evidence-based treatment modelsincluding but not limited motivational strategies, consultationmodels, and flexible application of behavioral and developmentaltherapies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary teammodel and with colleagues, medical specialists, and trainees.
- Experience and skill in consulting with professional colleaguesand staff
- Ability to deliver services in Spanish is stronglypreferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Clinical skill is required for conducting brief and targetedassessments and consultations in integrated care settings.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team andindependently.
- Capacity for flexibility and adaptability in different worksituations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills includingpresentations to community audiences.
- Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and maintain awell-organized work environment.
- Experience developing, training, and supervising psychologytrainees.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range ( or hiring range ) for thisposition has been established as (for .5 FTE) :
Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor: $52,500to $60,000
Associate Professor: $65,000 to $72,500
Professor: $87,500 to $102,500
The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents theUniversity\'s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range ofpossible compensation at the time of posting. This position is noteligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
