Role Overview:
The Pharmacist delivers safe, effective, and cost-efficient pharmaceutical care, developing and monitoring evidence-based pharmacotherapy plans to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pharmaceutical care, ensuring medication safety, efficacy, and appropriateness.
- Interpret and clarify physicians’ medication orders, review patient medication profiles, and identify drug interactions or contraindications.
- Recommend formulary alternatives and advise healthcare professionals on drug therapy issues.
- Monitor laboratory results, provide drug information, and conduct discharge medication consultations.
- Participate in patient rounds, calculate dosages, and verify prescriptions.
- Prepare compounded and sterile medications using aseptic techniques.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, technicians, and interns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with medical and nursing teams to resolve pharmacy-related issues and optimize patient care.
- Assist in updating departmental policies and coordinate resource management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy is required. Strong communication, clinical judgment, attention to detail, and teamwork skills are essential. Experience in medication management, compounding, and interdisciplinary collaboration is valued.
