This position is for an Oncology Clinical Pharmacist Specialist responsible for providing expert pharmacotherapy support within a multidisciplinary solid tumor team. The role involves evaluating and recommending drug therapies to optimize patient outcomes, educating patients and caregivers, and contributing to pharmaceutical care, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives. The specialist will participate in research, clinical effectiveness projects, and drug use evaluations, while mentoring pharmacy staff, residents, and students. They will also assist in implementing cost-reduction programs and serve as a resource across hospital departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient health status and medication profiles, monitor therapies, and document activities.
- Participate in professional development, research, and performance improvement activities.
- Educate and train pharmacy staff, residents, and students, acting as a role model and mentor.
- Identify and implement drug cost reduction strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD required).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, with 2-5 years preferred.
- Licenses and certifications including Medication Therapy Services in MO and RPh registration.
- Strong clinical evaluation, communication, and collaboration skills.
