This is afoundational, enterprise-impact role designed to strengthen medication safety, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness across UVA Health. As a key member of a growing team, you will directly support system-wide initiatives that ensure safe, effective, and data-driven pharmacy practices across inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and specialty settings.
In this newly created role, you will collaborate closely with pharmacists and operational leaders to transform complex data into actionable insights. This position is ideal for a pharmacist or pharmacy professional with a strong interest inmedication safety, compliance, process improvement, and cross-setting pharmacy operations .
The Role
This role sits within theInpatient Pharmacy cost center while supporting enterprise-wide operations , reflecting UVA Health's integrated approach to medication safety and regulatory excellence. You will serve as a key operational partner to pharmacists, helping advance audit readiness and strengthen compliance infrastructure across diverse care settings.
On a typical day, you will blenddata analysis, clinical insight, and process improvement to support medication safety initiatives and reporting needs.
What you will do
- Partner with pharmacists to support daily reporting, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance efforts
- Review patient charts and complex datasets to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Analyze and interpret medication-related data across ambulatory, inpatient, outpatient, and specialty environments
- Develop structured reports, dashboards, and breakdowns that inform medication safety and operational decisions
- Support process improvement initiatives , particularly in ambulatory and outpatient medication safety workflows
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance safe medication use practices across the enterprise
- Contribute to evolving workflows in a newly established role , helping shape how this function grows within UVA Health

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor's in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy is required.
- Experience: No experience required. PGY-1 residency or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
- Licensure: Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License or within 60 days of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
- Physical demands: Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; repetitive motion: typing. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull less than 20 lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The pay range for this role is $64.37 - $87.33 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
