Clinical Pharmacist - Critical Care Focus

Job Summary

The Critical Care/Neuro Care Team pharmacist is responsible for the provision of comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for patients in medical and neurological intensive care or step‑down units including order verification, rounds, and pharmacokinetic and therapeutic consultation.

Schedule

Rotating 1st and 2nd shift—2 weeks 1st shift (0700‑1530) and 1 week 2nd shift (1230‑2100), every 3rd weekend.

Responsibilities

• Perform and/or supervise various aspects of the medication use system including therapeutic recommendations, patient safety advocacy, preparation, distribution, monitoring, oversight of administration, and billing.
• Primarily based on the Critical Care/Neuro Care Team and may cross‑cover other areas as needed.
• Focus on quality of care through comprehensive medication management.

Qualifications

• Residency training PGY1 or comparable acute care experience required.
• Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in a health system pharmacy.
• Critical care experience preferred.
• Critical Care/Emergency Medicine PGY2 preferred.

Education

• 4‑Year/Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) required; must be completed within 30 days of start date by examination or reciprocity.
• Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other approved certification must be obtained and continuously maintained within 2 years of start date as applicable, excluding PRN team members who may not be eligible.
