Clinical Ophthalmology Manager

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic and provide leadership to the clinical staff
• Support the implementation of departmental strategies, operational initiatives, and hospital-wide programs
• Ensure efficient clinic operations, high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional patient experience
• Lead, hire, train, schedule, and support clinical and supervisory staff across clinic locations
• Evaluate staff performance and competencies while promoting ongoing professional development
• Support the implementation of new workflows, policies, and processes to meet operational and regulatory requirements
• Identify and implement workflow improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and patient care
• Assist with developing, monitoring, and managing departmental operating and capital budgets
• Allocate and redeploy staff as needed to meet patient care demands and maintain efficient clinic operations
• Ensure resources are used effectively to provide an excellent patient experience
• Respond to patient questions, concerns, and feedback in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner
• Monitor quality, service, patient satisfaction, and operational performance metrics
• Participate in departmental and hospital-wide initiatives that support operational excellence and organizational goals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required
• 5–7 years of management experience in an ophthalmology setting required
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification required
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to build effective working relationships with patients, clinical staff, physicians, researchers, and regulatory partners
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.
