Join the dynamic team in the Albany Medical Center Critical Care Float Pool today! This role offers the opportunity to gain and practice critical care skills in areas such as Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, and our progressive critical care unit.

RNs in the Critical Care Float pool also have opportunities to gain additional competencies in Emergency Department care and neuro-progressive care areas.

Job Responsibilities include:

1. Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests, and documenting treatments as per policies and regulations.
2. Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
3. Assessing and evaluating patient needs and responses to care.
4. Applying sound nursing judgment in care management decisions.
5. Providing primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.
6. Administering medications as ordered.
7. Collaborating with the nursing team to create patient care plans.
8. Guiding and directing ancillary personnel and maintaining professional standards.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree).
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Progressive Care or ICU.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of quality improvement principles and problem-solving tools.
