Provides direct patient care in a specialized 30-bed unit focused on GYN Oncology, including chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, symptom, pain, palliative, and hospice care. Care involves moderate to high acuity and complex interventions, coordinated by a multidisciplinary team of oncology-trained nurses, advanced practice nurses, case managers, social workers, spiritual care, pharmacy, psycho-social support, and physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, home care, and medications.
- Participates in ensuring patient safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance, while engaging in professional development.
- Develops and implements individualized care plans with clear goals, collaborating with team members, patients, and families.
- Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences and cultural values.
- Works in a safety-sensitive role requiring alertness and safe practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Licensure: Valid RN license required.
- Experience: No experience required; two years of experience preferred.
