Position Summary
The College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University is seeking a clinical‑track faculty member at the rank of assistant/associate professor in the Division of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry, with a joint appointment at the Ohio State Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. The role is based in the Head and Neck Service at the Wexner Medical Center and includes clinical care, supervisory oversight, teaching, research, and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full‑scope intraoral and extraoral maxillofacial prosthodontic care to patients.
- Supervise and provide administrative oversight of professional and laboratory support staff.
- Attend tumor board sessions and assist in developing clinical protocols.
- Teach and supervise student clinical training and research projects.
- Engage in scholarly research and contribute to the division’s mission.
- Participate in faculty governance, committees, and continuing education programs.
Performance Objectives
- Promote evidence‑based teaching skills and demonstrate strong proficiency in prosthodontics.
- Show commitment to student education and mentorship.
- Integrate advanced technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Manage course materials and laboratory schedules if acting as course director.
- Advocate for interdisciplinary education and patient care.
- Serve on college and university committees.
- Maintain active membership in professional organizations.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Required: DDS/DMD degree or equivalent, certificate of advanced education in prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthetics from a CODA‑accredited program, and eligibility for a teaching license by the Ohio State Dental Board.
- Desired: Board certification in prosthodontics, significant administrative and clinical experience, advanced degree (MS, PhD, EdD), or other advanced qualification.
