Clinical Lead-Medical Unit 3 (Nights)

Job Description Summary

The RN Clinical Leader provides leadership and coordinates the design, development, implementation and evaluation of program services within the area of responsibility. The RN Clinical Leader assures quality, service, and satisfaction goals are met, monitors efficient utilization of resources and financial performance, and ensures productivity standards are met. They collaborate with department leaders to manage day‑to‑day operations of their department.

Responsibilities and Duties

• 75% Perform clinical operation and supervisory duties to ensure quality, services, and client satisfaction. Act as a direct care provider when needed, maintaining recognized standards of clinical practice and patient care; coordinate the integration of an interdisciplinary team to achieve effective patient outcomes, efficient resource utilization, and patient satisfaction.
• Direct, delegate, and engage in treatment of patients and families to achieve optimal health outcomes. Serve as a central resource person and maintain open and accurate lines of communication for all customers.
• Create efficient schedules for interdisciplinary staff and patients to assure appropriate staff/skill mix.
• Establish systems, processes, standards, and structure and work collaboratively with leadership to assure smooth operations, safety, patient satisfaction, effective service delivery, and desired results.
• 10% Participate in recruitment activities, perform staff development, act as a clinical resource for interdisciplinary staff, facilitate learning, appraise staff performance, provide feedback, set goals, supervise, ensure orientation, and communicate through staff meetings, memos, updates.
• 10% Participate on unit and hospital‑based committees, conduct departmental audits, round daily on patients and associates to observe and obtain information about the patient experience and associate satisfaction; provide real‑time feedback and coaching on meeting patient and family needs.
• Act as a communication liaison for students and vendor representatives.
• 5% Assist the direct manager with maintaining and identifying budget needs through cost‑effective practice; assure cost‑efficient use of department resources.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensed by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• BSN required and 5 years of employment.
• ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support – American Heart Association).
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support – American Heart Association).
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience.
