Overview

Clinical Health Psychologist – Advanced Endoscopy Behavioral Medicine

The Cleveland Clinic Digestive Disease Institute and Neurological Institute seek a health psychologist to support our new Advanced Endoscopy Medical Home model of care. The role involves integrated, patient‑centered support for patients undergoing endoscopic diagnosis and treatment, including those with esophageal and gastric cancer.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral health evaluations for endoscopy patients.
  • Deliver evidence‑based individual and group‑based interventions for chronic gastroenterological and esophageal conditions, including pain management.
  • Provide pre‑ and post‑endoscopic procedure evaluation and care.
  • Manage behavioral health needs related to esophageal/endoscopic surgery.
  • Collaborate with gastroenterologists, nurse practitioners, nurse coordinators, and dietitians within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Supervise trainees in health psychology and contribute to teaching at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.
  • Engage in research, publications, and presentations supporting the department’s scientific mission.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA‑ or CPA‑accredited program.
  • Completed internship with experience in health psychology and a postdoctoral fellowship with specialization.
  • Eligibility for licensure in Ohio is essential.
  • Proficiency in evidence‑based treatments such as CBT, MI, ACT, and biofeedback for health‑related depression, anxiety, and pain.
  • Experience working with patients diagnosed with chronic medical conditions.
  • Strong interest or experience supervising trainees in health psychology.

Compensation

Minimum salary: $95,000
Maximum salary: $144,500
