Clinical Generalist Pharmacist

Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC) is accepting applications for a clinical generalist pharmacist.

Position Overview

The clinical generalist will provide pharmaceutical care services to the acute care patients of PRMC & Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role rotates through clinical and distribution services, with >70% of the month assigned to a clinical pharmacist role. Responsibilities include multidisciplinary rounding 7 days per week, pharmacy consult services, medication monitoring, documentation of patient medication therapy, advising physicians on drug usage and optimization in assigned hospital locations, providing drug information, review and verification of medication orders, oversight of preparation and dispensing activities, and acute care clinical consults (dosing and monitoring of anticoagulants, antimicrobials, total parenteral nutrition, patient‑controlled analgesia, etc.). The pharmacist will also mentor IPPE/APPE students and PGY1/PGY2 residents.

Schedule & Staffing

• 0.8 FTE position with full‑time benefits.
• 7‑on/7‑off schedule; standard week scheduled Wednesday to Tuesday.
• Weekend shifts: two 12‑hour shifts; weekday shifts: 8 hours.
• Evening shifts every 4th week (or every 8th week per calendar).
• Responsible for up to two holidays each year (6 recognized holidays).

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree from an ACPE‑accredited institution.
• Completed PGY1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience.
• Pharmacy licensure or eligibility in Indiana.
• High level of clinical practice skills, enthusiasm for teaching, and interpersonal skills needed to interact with students, health professionals, and patients.
