This role involves managing a team of supervisors and technical professionals, ensuring high-quality biomedical services, and aligning technology management strategies with organizational goals. The Clinical Engineering Director will be responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting patient care priorities through effective leadership and innovation.ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage all aspects of the clinical engineering program, including maintenance, repair, and calibration of medical equipmentLead a team of supervisors and technical staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance managementDrive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, compliance, and service qualityCollaborate with hospital leadership and clinical teams to align biomedical services with patient care objectivesMonitor compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and hospital policiesManage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiationsIdentify opportunities for team development and continuous improvement in healthcare technology management (HTM)Provide oversight of clinical staff for program management and regulatory complianceLead project management and capital planning efforts related to medical technologyRequired QualificationsBachelors degree or equivalent experience5 years of experience managing biomedical services within a large healthcare systemStrong knowledge of regulatory compliance standards, including CIHQ, DNV, and Joint Commission (JCAHO)Experience collaborating with executive leadership and C-suite stakeholders to align HTM strategies with organizational goalsDemonstrated success leading high-performing teams, including mentoring and developing staffStrong business acumen with proven decision-making skills in budget management and strategic planningEducation and/or ExperienceBachelors degree in engineering, healthcare technology management, or a related field, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of management experience in clinical engineering, biomedical services, or related fieldsNice to HaveAdvanced leadership training or certifications in healthcare technology managementExperience with capital planning and large-scale project management in a healthcare environmentProven ability to foster strong relationships with customers, staff, and vendorsThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare technology leader to make a meaningful impact, lead a high-performing team, and support critical patient care operations within a healthcare system.
