- DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
- The General Educator is a Registered Professional Nurse responsible for developing and initiating orientation programs for new personnel, coordinating education programs, training and continuing education for all nursing personnel.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional/Educational
- Registered Nurse with current Illinois License.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required or similar healthcare field.
- At least 3 years nursing experience which has provided opportunities to refine competencies in nursing practice and apply principles and practice of teaching and supervision.
- Masters degree in nursing or similar healthcare field preferred.
- ECW experience preferred
- DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.
- Personal
- Maintains good physical and emotional well being.
- Three or more years assessing, designing, instructing, and evaluating educational programs for adult learners in a clinical setting
- Proficient writing and communication skills
- CPR, ACLS & PALS instructor certification recommended.
- EKG knowledge and interpretation skills, IV knowledge, and venipuncture skills.
- Is creative, imaginative and receptive to new methodology.
