Clinical Director

Position Summary

FSRI is always looking for candidates who want to make a positive impact on the community. The position involves participating as a leader and an active team member to support the behavioral health of clients accessing services at South County Academy, referred by the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). The role provides clinical oversight of both educational and residential programming, including the implementation of Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) and other evidence‑based practices. It supports a trauma‑informed, client‑ and family‑centered philosophy of care, supervises clinicians, case managers, and support specialists, performs crisis assessments, brief treatment, consultation, and manages evidence‑based treatment models. The position also participates in on‑call emergency services, conducts clinical training, and maintains a caseload as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight of educational and residential programming, including implementation of Trauma Systems Therapy and other evidence‑based practices.
• Support a trauma‑informed, client‑ and family‑centered philosophy of care.
• Supervise clinicians, case managers, and support specialists.
• Perform crisis assessments, brief treatment, consultation, and manage evidence‑based models of treatment.
• Participate in on‑call emergency services.
• Conduct clinical training and maintain a caseload as necessary.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in human services (psychology, social work, marriage/family, etc.).
• Independently licensed in Rhode Island as a Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Mental Health Counselor.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in professional writing.
• Skilled in operating various medical record software, word‑processing, and database software programs.
• Spanish speaking preferred and compensated.
• Flexible schedule with some evenings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bilingual/ASL skills compensated by an additional 6% above base pay.
• Multilingual skills compensated by an additional 8% above base pay.

Physical Requirements

• Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, registration, and auto insurance.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Travel to and from clients’ residences, community locations, and office site, which may include using walkways, stairs, and/or elevators.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Provide emergency coverage; ratio to the programs as needed.
• Ability to be trained in and implement de‑escalation techniques utilizing Handle with Care when necessary.

Compensation

FSRI determines pay based on a candidate's relevant and transferable experience, certifications, licenses, degree, and language ability.
