Your Role on the Team

We are recruiting a gastroenterologist with an interest in General Gastrointestinal (GI) practice. This individual should have expertise in disease or treatment groups such as irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and colon cancer screening. Candidates should be competent in performing esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy with polypectomy. Proficiency in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and/or endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is not required. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Primary responsibilities include providing emergency department and inpatient coverage, and expanding outpatient clinical care at UCI Health community clinical sites in Los Alamitos and other UCI locations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in quality improvement to improve patient outcomes.
  • Adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and objectives while complying with all UC policies. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all state and federal privacy laws.
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, inspire, and communicate with faculty, residents, staff, and peers for a professional, team‑based approach in patient care.
  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Board‑certified with California licensure.
  • Active and current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification.

Total Compensation

Eligible base salary range based on MSP level for a Clinical Associate is $485,000-$550,000 . Candidates may also earn additional compensation through incentive eligibility based on performance and responsibilities.
