Patient interactions and duties will vary according to departmental specialties and the provider's practice.Responsibilities:Manage incoming correspondence for disbursement to the appropriate practice.Serve as the first point of contact for outside and internal referrals and patient/family inquiries, and triage appropriately.Manage external medical records, including initial and follow-up phone calls and entering images into the EPIC system.Collect insurance information, forward it to Patient Financial Advisors and follow-up as required.Assist patients with check-in for virtual appointments.Initiate patient referral processes and monitor referrals for empaneled patients.Assist with messages and inbound calls.Other duties as assigned.Administrative:Offer IT assistance.Manage incoming mail.Other duties as assigned.Education:High School Diploma or GED.Associate's degree preferred.Languages:English requiredCertifications:None requiredComplexity of Work:Requires critical and forward thinking and problem-solving skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Requires the ability to be an effective liaison between patients and medical professionals at all levels.Excellent communication and organization skills.Must be able to be proactive and work in a stressful and fast paced environment.Work Experience:One year experience including customer service, professional healthcare office setting preferredAn associate or bachelor's degree may offset two years' experienceFamiliarity with electronic medical records is preferred.Typing proficiency with accuracy preferred.Experience using Microsoft Office Suite products (Outlook, Word, Excel or Power Point).Experience may be assessed with an on-line Skills Assessment.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periodsAbility to operate a computer and other office equipmentAbility to travel throughout the hospital systemAbility to communicate and exchange accurate informationIn some locations, the ability to move up to 20 poundsPersonal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
