Job Description
This is a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned clients
- Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
- Post and reconcile bank and credit card transactions
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements
- Prepare and assist with month-end close procedures
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Ensure timely financial reporting
- Client Communication & Advisory Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients
- Respond to client inquiries regarding financial data and transactions
- Assist clients with financial systems and accounting software usage
- Support leadership with financial analysis and reporting
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
- Compliance & Controls
- Maintain internal controls and documentation standards
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Support audit preparation as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and general ledger management
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required)
- Experience with cloud-based accounting systems
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Experience working in an accounting firm or managing multiple clients
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with financial reporting and month-end close processes
- Experience with payroll platforms and sales tax filings
