Primary Purpose:

• To assist the physical education teacher in all aspects of his/her job.
• Helping with small groups, supervising, discipline, equipment management and class orientation.

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

• Have knowledge of the basic rules of games and activities in physical education.

• Working with children in some organization, and exhibit an interest in physical education.

• Equipment management (this requires some lifting), setting up and putting away each day.
• Assists teacher with record-keeping.
• Supervising of small groups in different activities.
• Escorting of students to and from class.
• Helping to coordinate cluster meet and field day.
• Duplicate copies of rules, tests, or notes to be sent home.
• Acting as scorekeeper and referee during games.
• Help administer physical fitness test.
• Marking instructional areas.
• Work with students having difficulty mastering a skill one-on-one.
• Assist with special programs and projects.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the principal and /or physical education teacher.
