Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with young children preferred
- Bilingual language abilities, English/Spanish, a plus
Responsibilities/Duties
Work as a part of a team to assist in carrying out educational activities in the classroom setting. Partners with the lead teacher and associate teacher as a third person support in the classroom.
Implement educational activities by providing and maintaining an atmosphere in the state-funded classroom that promotes school readiness and developmentally appropriate practices for 3 and 4-year old children.
Terms of Employment
Conditions of employment Luzerne County Head Start requires staff to possess current, valid background clearances (3) per state/federal regulations. Proof of education required to meet the qualifications for position.
Hours & Salary
Full time (37.5 hrs/wk), 10-month position working a school year August - June annually with an established summer break between school years. Rate of pay: $14.80/hr. For those who possess bilingual abilities (Eng/Spanish) – 5% additional pay
