Classical Hematology Faculty

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) are seeking exceptional candidates for full-time academic faculty positions in the Division of Classical Hematology at the rank of Assistant, Associate Professor, or Professor. The role involves comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care, including consultations on complex hemostasis and thrombosis cases, alongside opportunities for teaching and groundbreaking translational research. Qualified physicians will join a collaborative environment with robust research infrastructure and a diverse patient population spanning Western Pennsylvania and beyond.

• Outpatient and inpatient care at UPMC
• Outpatient non-malignant hematology clinic at UPMC and in the federally-funded Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania
• Access to the Pittsburgh Heart, Lung, and Blood Vascular Medicine Institute
• Collaboration with UPMC Hillman Cancer Center
• Diverse referral population spanning Western Pennsylvania and beyond

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and inpatient care at UPMC involving a portfolio focused on classical hematology
• Provide consultation on complex hemostasis and thrombosis cases in the setting of advanced surgeries, organ transplantation, and high-risk maternal fetal medicine
• Participate in groundbreaking translational research, investigator-initiated clinical trials, and multi-disciplinary programs
• Participate in the teaching and training of Hematology and Medical Oncology fellows, residents, and medical students
• Contribute to the Division's annual Scientific Conferences
• Attend the inpatient hematology consultation service
• Attend the outpatient non-malignant hematology clinic at UPMC and in the federally-funded Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania

Compensation

• Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with level of experience
• Support for competitive start-up packages to support early and mid-level researchers exist for qualified individuals

Requirements

• Candidates must be ABIM eligible or certified in Hematology or Hematology-Oncology
• Demonstrate excellence in patient care and have a strong interest in working in an academic environment
• Open to visa sponsorship
