Class B CDL Driver

Job Description

We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and safety-minded CDL Driver to deliver lumber and building materials to customer job sites.

Because you’ll be interacting with customers and contractors at their job sites, it’s important that you are personable, professional, friendly, and courteous at all times.

This is a physical position that involves loading and unloading lumber and other building materials by hand or with power equipment . Training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Transport lumber and building materials from the store to customer job sites, including construction sites
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues
• Follow assigned delivery routes and meet scheduled delivery times
• Comply with all truck-driving rules and regulations, including size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods
• Follow company policies and procedures
• Safely maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, or violations
• Load and unload materials by hand or operate power equipment when needed

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid CDL license
• Current D.O.T. medical card
• Previous truck-driving experience is a plus
• Experience handling lumber or other building materials is a plus
• Experience operating a box truck, boom truck, or flatbed is a plus
• Familiarity with GPS and electronic equipment/software
• Knowledge of applicable truck-driving rules and regulations
• Ability to drive for extended periods and travel as needed
• Clean driving record with no recent moving or driving violations
• Ability to adapt to unexpected situations, including traffic and weather conditions
• Dependable, professional, and customer-service oriented
