Class A CDL Driver

The Class A CDL Driver operates tanker trucks, vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized equipment to support environmental remediation, hazardous waste transportation, industrial cleaning, and emergency spill response projects. You work closely with field crews to safely transport liquids, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, contaminated materials, and remediation equipment while maintaining strict compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and internal safety standards. Responsibilities

  • Safely operate CDL Class A vehicles, including tanker trucks, vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, and trailers in a variety of industrial and environmental settings.
  • Transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials to approved treatment, storage, and disposal facilities in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload liquid waste, sludge, contaminated water, chemicals, and industrial byproducts using proper procedures and equipment.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Operate pumps, hoses, valves, and vacuum systems during loading and unloading activities to ensure safe and efficient material handling.
  • Assist with equipment setup, mobilization, and demobilization for environmental remediation projects at various job sites.
  • Support hazardous material spill response and cleanup activities as part of a coordinated field response team.
  • Assist environmental field technicians with decontamination, waste collection, and site cleanup operations to ensure safe and compliant project execution.
  • Perform industrial cleaning tasks such as tank cleaning, pit cleaning, and wastewater removal using appropriate tools and methods.
  • Transport remediation equipment, supplies, and materials to and from project locations as scheduled.
  • Participate in emergency response activities that may require rapid deployment, extended hours, and travel to different locations.
  • Comply with all DOT, EPA, OSHA, and company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times.
  • Maintain accurate and complete driver logs, inspection reports, manifests, and transportation documentation in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and transportation of hazardous materials to meet all applicable regulations.
  • Follow all site-specific safety requirements, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Immediately report incidents, spills, vehicle issues, unsafe conditions, and safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Tanker endorsement required, with the ability to operate heavy combination vehicles of 26,001 lbs or more with a towed unit over 10,000 lbs designed to haul bulk liquids or gases in tanks with an individual or aggregate capacity of 119 gallons or more.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of commercial driving experience.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) demonstrating safe driving history.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
  • Ability to pass required drug screening.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed for project assignments.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and participate in emergency response assignments when required.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements for commercial drivers.
  • Ability to safely operate tanker trucks, vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, and related trailers.
  • Ability to operate pumps, hoses, valves, and vacuum systems during loading and unloading operations.
  • Commitment to following EPA, OSHA, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail for documentation, manifests, and inspection reports.
  • Capability to work in industrial and environmental field conditions, including participation in spill response and industrial cleaning activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • HAZWOPER 40-hour certification (preferred).
  • HazMat endorsement on CDL (preferred).
  • Previous experience operating vacuum trucks in industrial or environmental applications.
  • Industrial cleaning experience, including tank and pit cleaning and wastewater removal.
  • Experience in environmental remediation projects, including handling contaminated materials and equipment.
  • Confined Space Entry certification (preferred).
  • Familiarity with hazardous waste transportation, environmental regulations, and spill response procedures.
  • Experience working over the road and in industrial environments.
  • Strong safety mindset and willingness to participate in ongoing safety training.
