As a member of our team, you'll help process, reclaim, and deliver custom antique lumber to customers throughout the region. This is a hands-on position that combines local and regional CDL driving with lumber processing, forklift operation, material handling, and general lumberyard operations. Responsibilities
Driving & Deliveries
- Safely transport reclaimed lumber and materials to customer and vendor locations within a 500-mile radius of Bozeman using a 1-ton truck with a gooseneck trailer or a day cab with a 48-foot flatbed.
- Verify that the correct products are loaded before departure.
- Secure and tarp loads as needed.
- Maintain compliance with all CDL regulations and safe driving practices.
- Provide professional, courteous service to customers during deliveries.
- Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on trucks, trailers, and equipment.
- Report mechanical issues promptly.
When deliveries are not scheduled, you'll assist with a variety of yard operations, including:
- Pulling and preparing custom lumber orders.
- Operating forklifts, chainsaws, and woodworking equipment.
- Measuring materials and performing basic math calculations.
- Assisting with general yard and production duties as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Occasionally lifting up to 75 pounds.
Required
- Valid Class A CDL with air brake endorsement and ability to operate manual transmissions.
- Clean driving record and successful pre-employment FMCSA Clearinghouse query.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (or ability to obtain one before employment).
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings.
- 1-3 years of general work experience.
- At least 1 year of commercial driving experience.
- Experience operating trucks and trailers in varying traffic, terrain, and weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and dependability.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
