Claims Manager – Energy Liability – Global P&C Insurance Carrier

Locations: Houston, Dallas, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Scottsdale, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta (Hybrid)

About the Opportunity:

James Search Group is partnering with a top-tier global property & casualty (P&C) insurance carrier to recruit a skilled Claims Manager focused on energy-related liability claims . This is a hybrid role available in several major markets, offering the chance to lead high-exposure, complex commercial claims across the energy sector. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise and a strategic, solutions-oriented approach to litigation and claims resolution.

Compensation:

Base salary range: $120,000 – $150,000 , plus bonus eligibility, full benefits package, and 401(k) .

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct oversight of primary and excess energy liability claims , including complex commercial disputes and multi-jurisdictional matters.
• Conduct coverage analysis , evaluate liability exposure, assess defenses, and set reserves promptly.
• Attend and manage mediations, settlement conferences, and trials as needed.
• Perform file audits through claim systems and in-person visits to ensure best practices and quality standards.
• Serve as a key liaison to underwriting, actuarial, and reinsurance teams by providing timely and accurate claim updates.

Qualifications:

• 8–10 years of experience managing or overseeing complex energy-related claims , including experience with construction, NY Labor Law, and large-scale commercial losses .
• Proven success handling and negotiating litigated claims and coverage disputes .
• Strong knowledge of policy interpretation, legal strategy, and claims resolution.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills; highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Customer-centric mindset with a team-oriented and proactive approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; adjuster licensing across jurisdictions preferred or must be obtained.
• Travel required based on caseload and business needs.
